MIAMI FL November 11 2003-- Strategic Shaft Technologies welcomes Golf Etc. Clear Lake (Texas) as the newest licensee to offer SST PUREŽ, the leading shaft-alignment process on the PGA Tour. The Golf Etc. location in Houston joins the nearly two dozen and growing SST PURE licensees around the world.

Golf Etc. Clear Lake is a comprehensive one-stop shop carrying pro-line clubs, balls, gloves, bags, high-performance golf shafts, including Fujikura and Kirk Currie professional putters. Owned and operated by accredited clubmaker Lavigne, Golf Etc. “I wanted my store to be the most innovative and technologically advanced store possible. And the only thing that would allow me to achieve that goal was to have the SST PURE shaft-alignment system in my shop,” says Lavigne. “Of course, we have launch monitors which measure everything from launch angle to ball spin rate, and we have a True Temper Shaft Lab. But the SST PURE shaft analysis system was essential for me to set up my shop as being far and above every other shop around.”

To date, more than 180 PGA TOUR players have embraced SST PURE shaft alignment technology. Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.
